Workshop ‘Book in a Box’ with

ANNETTE EMMS

Make a concertina style book and a box to keep it safe. Illustrate your book with various image transfer methods.

Saturday 18th September 

Workshop ‘Sumptuous Surfaces’ with 

DIANA SANDERSON

This workshop will demonstrate a variety of ways of using materials such as Tyvek and Fabritex by colouring and distressing it, then applying to stitched work. Other surfaces will be created using a heat gun and plastic bags …your imagination is the limit to what can be used.

Workshop ‘Based on Lace’ with

JAN EVANS

Using old lace fragments as inspiration you will create a fine lacy background using scrim, iron-on vilene and pulled thread work.

Weekend Workshop
‘Raise the Surface with Glitz and Glisten’ with 

RUTH ISSETT

Use texture gels, waxes and varnishes to create luscious and iridescent surfaces on paper that can be used for sketch books, journals and stitched textiles.
There is a £7 cost per person for materials used during the weekend.

Workshop ‘Tags for Bags and Books’ with

ISOBEL HALL

Make beautiful and functional tags and bookmarks using a variety of mixed media and many different techniques.
May be a small charge for materials.

 Saturday 8th May 

 Workshop ‘Techniques Day’ with 

ARIO

A chance to try out many of the mixed media products around. Work on fabric and paper to create a number of samples using textile paints, transfoil, Markal paintsticks, Lutradur, Bondaweb, Mistyfuse, and 3D medium. These samples can be used as a base for your work or as a reference for a later date.

Workshop ‘Fusing Fabric Part 2’ with

MARGARET BEAL

Fabrics first fused with a soldering iron are stitched and cut away with a steady hand. Many of the techniques can be used with patchwork and appliqué or as embroidered textiles.

Workshop ‘Miniature Gardens’ with 

LOUISE WATSON

Design and make a miniature garden as seen from an aerial view with paths, ponds, hedges etc. You will produce a richly encrusted stitched surface with raised stitches, tufted knots and tiny flower stitches.

Workshop ‘Totally Tucked’  with  

JENNIE RAYMENT

Experiment, embellish, embroider and enhance a multitude of twiddled and tucked designs. Play with appliquéd threads and creative decoration. Simple and effective for use on garments, quilts and accessories.
